Brain Integration is a natural, holistic process that is a revolutionary natural solution to better functioning. It is a non-invasive technique that does not include supplements or medication to be effective.

THE NATURE OF SPECIFIC LEARNING DIFFICULTIES

The philosophy at Integral Brain Health Center is that all learning difficulties result NOT from lack of intelligence, but from the degree of access each person has to specific brain functions and how well these functions can be integrated.

If a person can access all Gestalt and Logic Brain functions and their subordinate subconscious functions at all levels in the brain with equal facility, and can integrate all these functions, they will perform well in all areas of learning.  If for any reason they cannot access certain specific brain functions, they will have difficulty performing tasks.

Standard psychological testing to evaluate specific learning problems relies on determining which types of mental functions and processes can be accessed, and how well these functions are accessed.  Standardized Intelligence tests such as the Wechsler Intelligence Scale Test are a carefully devised series of tasks which are divided into two groups: Verbal subtests and Performance subtests. The Verbal subtests are tasks which require access to predominantly “Logic” lead functions.  Some of the Performance subtests are tasks which require access to only “Gestalt” lead functions. While other tasks require integrated functions with a Gestalt lead.

The score on each subtest depends upon how well a person can access the specific functions required to perform that subtest.  The subsets upon which a person scores poorly indicate which types of mental function they have difficulty accessing. Standard Testing interprets these scores as Intelligence Quotient or IQ.  The Integral Brain Health Center views the interpretation of these scores as the degree to which a person has access to Brain Function.

BEHAVIORAL ASPECTS

The nature of the functions accessed, or not accessed, determines to a large degree how a person behaves.  A person that has Gestalt dominance in mental processing will often be perceived as emotionally immature or dramatic because emotional maturity is essentially the ability to modulate and control the expression of emotions based on logic analysis of circumstances.  A person that has Logic dominance in mental processing will often be slow to catch on to social clues, physically uncoordinated and not have the ability to understand concepts that others find easy to grasp.

Brain Integration opens access to both Gestalt and Logic lead functions and removes blocks to integrated function which corrects most of the specific learning difficulties in clients.

Gestalt Dominance in Mental Processing:

The commonly observed specific learning difficulty is Gestalt dominance in processing information. People with this pattern of learning dysfunction have good access to most Gestalt lead functions, but poor access to Logic lead functions.  These people may often display many, if not all, of the following behavioral symptoms:

  • Tendency to be impulsive.

  • Little appreciation of the connection between cause and effect

  • Difficulty budgeting time

  • Difficulty concentrating

  • Difficulty spelling

  • Difficulty with mathematics

  • Poor memory

  • Reading may be fluent, but there is often poor comprehension.

  • Often well-coordinated or even gifted athletically.

Logic Dominance in Mental Processing

People who access their Gestalt lead functions poorly but have good access to Logic lead functions are the true Dyslexics by standard psychological definition.  They display the following behavioral symptoms:

  • Cannot spell or do so entirely phonetically by putting letters together to sound like how the word is said.

  • Have great difficulty reading.

  • Display dysrhythmia, an inability to clap or tap a tune.

  • Are physically uncoordinated or clumsy.

  • May display rigidity and over organization.

  • May not understand social clues and may have to be taught things others learn unconsciously.

  • May be good at mathematics, display good concentration, follow sequential directions well.

Limited Access to Gestalt and Logic Mental Processing

Poor limited access to both Gestalt and Logic processing is usually associated with a great deal of confusion in mental processing and creates the greatest learning difficulties.  They display the following behavioral symptoms:

  • Language development is often delayed.

  • Reading is very delayed.

  • Spelling is very delayed.

  • Difficulty understanding basic numeracy and arithmetic. Often have the difficulty with the basic concept of numbers

  • Has no concentration or focus.

  • A person appears confused/lazy or just plain slow mentally.

  • Often lethargic with no zest for life

THE BRAIN INTEGRATION Philosophy

The philosophy and programs are centered around Brain Integration developed by Richard Utt, Founder of the International Institute of Applied Physiology, and was further developed by several other gifted individuals basing their theories and practices from ancient Eastern philosophies and medicine:

At Integral Brain Health we use a combination of modalities taught by these progenitors of Kinesiology to promote balanced health and wellbeing for our clients. Brain Integration is a natural, holistic process.  It is a non-invasive technique that does not include supplements or medication to be effective.

Because of stress, trauma, injuries, or drama in our lives, our bodies will store those incidents where they get stuck and with the help of Brain Integration, we can restore a healthy balance.  Unraveling the negativity holding us back to a better functioning individual.

Once the issues are identified by using muscle monitoring, we then apply specific learning corrections for the dysfunctions in reading skills, comprehension, spelling, mathematics etc.  This can also be done to assist with many mental and emotional issues, such as anger, depression, anxiety, fears or memory stress, etc. When all the functional areas have been corrected, we move to Emotional situations, these include behavioral problems, low self-esteem, negative attitudes toward education subjects or life events, etc.  This process is known as Balancing.

By using and directing the body’s natural existing electrical impulses and directing those impulses to communicate with the subconscious, a practitioner can open direct pathways within the brain, so that a person can experience full brain function and alleviation of difficulties.
